Who holds the stick? PRA experiences in Ethiopia, Tigray and Sa-Atusa
Abstract
Reports on two PRA exercises facilitated by World Vision Australia with World Vision Ethiopia in Tigray and Sa-Atusa, Ethiopia. The PRA focused on processes of change and empowerment in the two communities. The findings of a variety of methods - time lines and trends, seasonal calendars, maps, venn diagrams, transects, matrix ranking and semi-structured interviewing - are presented. Although there were significant differences in the problems identified by the local people and the PRA team, recommendations for action tended to reflect those identified by the PRA team rather than those of the local people.
