Action research in Haiti : training and initial experiences
Abstract
This chapter introduces a project in Haiti that aimed to improve farming systems, but met with early difficulties due to low motivation of local people and field staff. The project adopted action research, defined as a working method for development agents, technicians, cultivators and all those engaged all their lives in productive activities. The authors provide a scheme of the method in Haiti and discuss training, organization and education. The results of the action research are put forward and obstacles encountered.
