This paper describes a fodder ranking exercise which was carried out during a situation analysis of Kistagiri village in Andhra Pradesh. The aim of the exercise was to gain an understanding of the decision-making process of farmers in selecting fodder for cattle. The farmers selected their own criteria for evaluating the different types of fodder used, and identified two preferred types.
