Recommendations for action
The Organisation of American States (OAS) has, since 1997, forged the inter-American strategy for the promotion of public decision-making for sustainable development (ISP) following the 1996 Summit of the Americas for Sustainable Development held in Bolivia. The ISP comprises a Policy Framework which addresses the basic principles, goals and recommendations for greater involvement by all sectors of society in development decision-making.
