This CD presents three films from PRAXIS (Institute of Participatory Practices), India. The first film presents PRA (Participatory Rural Appraisal) experiences from five towns: Anantapur, Quthbullapur, Ramagundam, Tenali and Tirupati; of Andhra Pradesh. The PRA was part of the Andhra Pradesh Urban Services for the Poor (APUSP) project, funded by DFID (Department for International Development, UK. The second film presents PPA (Participatory Poverty Assessment) experiences and the field outcome tracing the roots of poverty in Madhya Pradesh. These two films are approximately 15 minutes long. The third film ôIn the Land of Gat Singhö is a 20 minutes visual documentation of snake charmer community from Morena district, Madhya Pradesh who have been pushed to poverty. The three films communicates the situation of the poor through their own words and their perceptions on access to public services and poverty alleviation programmes.
