This paper discusses the role of the Institute of Agricultural Engineering (IAE) in the development of agricultural mechanisation in a farmer participatory project in Zimbabwe. The IAE is responsible for developing technical improvements in specific technologies. Farmer field days were used for technology demonstration as well as gaining feedback from farmers. Farmers responses and requests regarding four technologies (weeding tools and animal traction equipment) are detailed.
