In October 1992 Piers Blaikie, David Preston and Michael Stocking organised a workshop on natural resources management in the Third World for Nordic researchers. The contributions of Michael Stocking are given in a few short pages. He feels RRA and PRA have much to offer natural scientists, saying: doing natural resources surveys rapidly may mean doing them better; measurement in science is not the objective, unbiased operation some like to believe it to be; there are lots of rapid, simple measurements which can be made. The second section is a wish-list for natural resources research, posing ten critical questions about present research and projects. The author makes one stop and think.
