The report of a workshop run to assist staff of 'Slot', a youth organisation, to better understand both PRA and one of the local communities in which they were working. The five day programme is outlined, which is very much a field orientated exercise. In defining the objectives of the fieldwork, an initial checklist was developed assessing subject matter and potential PRA methods. The findings are presented, with some initial recommendations and conclusions, based on the items identified in the checklist. The largest section of the report focuses on the individual exercises, not only presenting findings but also critically analysing the methods used and the way in which they were facilitated. This is taken further in the last section, and the learning points from the process are developed.
