This book collects some of the thinking from the World Congress fo Participatory Convergence in Knowledge, Space and Time held at Cartagena in 1997. At the Congress two series of sister trends came together, Participatory Action Research (PAR) and Action Research, Action Learning and Process Management (ALARPM). The objective was to consider way that over 32 schools of participation associated with social economic and political research differed or converged. The book looks at participatory research in terms of politics and learning and its underpinnings. It provides theoretical and practical experiences and considers the future of participatory convergence.
