This manual is one of a three-part series produced by this primary health care initiative of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency in Nigeria supported by DFID and the British Council. It is a training manual/guide for trainers using Participatory Learning and Action (PLA). The manual is split in seven one-day workshops and each has a number of sessions. The body of the text is given over to session plans, which are structured in the following way:| Objectives| Estimated Time| Activities| Materials| Handouts| Preparation Required| Steps û which gives a more detailed account of each activity.
It provides a range of participatory methods and activities including communication skills, mapping, interviews, visual representations, fieldwork, drama, community workshops, teamwork, presentation skills, and analysis.
