This a training manual based on the training notes which were compiled for a PRA workshop arranged by Noragric and Redd Barna in Asmat, Eritrea. The manual is formatted for the experienced as well as beginners in PRA. It is recommended by the author to be used as a cook book, where readers dip into pages and get a quick introduction to various aspects of the PRA approach. The main objective however is to boost the readers creativity and imagination. The manual covers various topics including: the history, role and purposes of PRA ,it presents an overview of methods, attitudes and behaviour, dangers, traps and ethics; including PRA versus other research methods, PRA in the project cycle, visualised analysis, interviewing and sampling methods and information on PRA database at Noragric.
