A step-by-step outline for using RRA/PRA in preparing a client-oriented, gender sensitive extension plan is given. The manual starts with a note on gender issues - gender roles, needs along with a discussion on the use of the gender analytical framework. The rationale of using participatory approaches in extension programme and the concept of RRA/PRA and various tools are discussed. Finally, the report explains the methods and procedures of selecting communities, forming and training a team, drawing up a plan of action and checklists, collecting and analysing information, validating and ranking information with client groups and implementing the plan of action using gender analytical framework.
