This book is an attempt to capture the experiences and efforts of a few community based initiatives which have demonstrated its relevance. Rooted in community expressions and peopleÆs struggles, the book attempts to showcase how community media can and has made a critical difference to peopleÆs lives. If the experiences are divers3 and capture a range of traditional and electronic media, they are linked by a single common thread: the effort to synergise information with communication and the Right to Information with the Right to Communicate.
