Mapping Ecological Zones: Single Geographies, Separate Realities and Flat Earth Maps

This brief note is a critique of current ecological zone mapping practices. It argues that current practices are inappropriate for a number of important usages, and do not adequately capture important ecological diversities. Many mapping techniques can be combined to present one perspective, or dominant view. By contrast, the diversity of views from close up and the visions from within are best depicted as multi-dimensional.
